The Company was founded in 2006 to support independent dentists by providing group resources to independently owned and operated dental practices.  With over 600 locations and over 1000 member dentists, the Company is able to leverage its collective bargaining power to offer resources in several categories including: recruiting, professional development, employee benefits, marketing analytics, patient financing, buying power, peer-to-peer sharing.

Overview of the Role

The Company is looking to hire a VP of Sales to help build the next phase of its GTM motion. Together with the Management team, this person will be responsible for revenue growth, scalability of the commercial function, executing a multi-channel sales strategy, and launching new offerings.  This person will have high energy and be a strategic and process-driven leader for the Company.

 

This is a remote role--candidates must be in Eastern or Central time zones.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management/Development:

  • Manage a team comprising regional Business Development Managers, Membership Success Representatives (Account Managers), and Business Development Representatives (BDRs).

  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to drive team success.

  • Lead weekly team meetings to outline objectives and provide guidance on ongoing and upcoming initiatives.

  • Conduct weekly pipeline reviews and training sessions to continuously improve team performance.

  • Develop a comprehensive business plan template in partnership with the membership support director, incorporating growth strategies for the membership base.

Exceed Revenue Goals with Strategic and Operational Mindset:

  • Ensure the team, as well as yourself, are well-positioned to exceed revenue goals and targets.

  • Drive behavior aligned with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by leadership to maximize performance.

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and maintain up-to-date data and activity records in Salesforce (SFDC).

  • Maintain and grow a personal sales pipeline initially to gain insights into the sales process.

  • Formulate and execute revenue growth plans for the company, aligning with organizational objectives in partnership with Marketing and the rest of the executive team.

  • Identify and capture opportunities to promote higher-tier products and services where feasible.

  • Ensure a seamless handoff of new business to post-sales teams and collaborate to share accountability for long-term revenue growth.

Customer Led Mindset and Approach

  • Manage escalations and actively participate in all aspects of the sales cycle to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Generate and deliver compelling customer presentations and proposals for sales events.

  • Attend local and regional trade shows to establish new contacts, qualify prospects, and expand the company's presence.

Competitive and Market Intelligence

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of competitive and market conditions to make informed decisions.

Required Experience

  • Prior experience leading sales for a business providing complex services to medical practitioners or independent medical practices

  • Strong preference for dental industry experience; at a minimum, must be motivated to learn the industry quickly

  • High energy, hands-on leader who is strategic, structured, and process-driven

  • Player-coach who cultivates high-performing sales and account management teams, as well as builds relationships with key accounts, strategic partners, etc. to drive growth

  • Experience with multi-channel sales models particularly those with events and community-building as elements

  • Track record of building scalable sales organizations, e.g., implementing foundational elements like clearly articulated strategy, clear roles / responsibilities, segmentation / targeting, consistent sales processes, supporting tools, messaging, metrics, incentives programs that reward the right behaviors, etc.

  • Located in eastern or central time zones and comfortable leading a remote team

  • Strong business acumen and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
