About the Role
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is a seasoned, motivated “hunter” with a proven track record of winning new customers and growing existing key accounts. This is an opportunity to join a growing, private-equity backed business and play a central role in its continued growth, and to make significant contributions to the strategic business plan, sales strategies, and marketing strategies for specific market verticals and large accounts.
This role owns the entire sales process from lead generation through close and will have experience selling label printing solutions; the ideal candidate will have experience selling security applications (e.g. holograms, security tapes, mechanical security seals).
Key Responsibilities
New customer acquisition: Lead the end-to-end sales process from lead generation through closed / won, including:
Prospect and develop new customer leads, and pursue leads assigned by NovaVision’s management
Use multiple channels where appropriate, e.g., phone (including cold calling), e-mail, and in-person visits
Coordinate with NovaVision’s technical product experts and leadership to develop solutions for prospective clients
Develop a new account business plan, incorporating items such as current trends, competition, application of products in various markets, and suggested marketing programs to the Sales Manager
Grow existing accounts: grow assigned accounts through a sound understanding of the customer’s needs, identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell
Provide basic customer service where needed
Conduct site visits with clients in-person when appropriate and necessary
Develop a working knowledge of all NovaVision’s products and production capabilities
Other:
Provide Sales Management with regular updates, suggestions for marketing programs, and applications of products in various markets
Maintain CRM with up-to-date records for prospective and existing accounts
Execute other projects or responsibilities assigned by management
Qualifications
Proven ability to win large, new customers (annual value >$250k) and grow existing accounts with a track record of meeting/exceeding annual sales goals
Experience selling labeling solutions to large corporate customers, ideally including security applications (e.g., holograms, security tapes, mechanical security seals)
10+ years of overall sales experience
Demonstrated success leading the entire sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to solution development and contract negotiations
Experience selling in one or more of NovaVision’s target industry verticals: pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device manufacturers, electronics, governments, transportation / logistics, and cannabis
Experience selling to key decision-makers for NovaVision’s products, e.g., Operations Leaders and Heads of Product Security
Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to be a team player on all levels
Ability to make meaningful contributions to (i) developing a business plan, including sales and marketing strategies and (ii) to sales and budget forecasts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Location
Work effectively remotely
Ideally located on the East Coast, ranging from the Northeast down to the Carolinas (other location considered on a case-by-case basis)
Travel to customers, trade shows, etc. as need to achieve sales goals
Periodically travel to NovaVision’s headquarters in Bowling Green, OH and/or other manufacturing facilities, currently in Winston Salem, NC; Atlanta, GA; and Hudson, WI.
