Originally one of the largest distributors of pharma products for hemophiliacs, the Company has expanded into other therapeutic areas including oncology and ophthalmology. With the business expected to double revenues organically over the next two years, the Company is expanding and transforming its accounting and finance organization to support continued growth.
About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst – Commercial Finance is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to sales. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Finance, this role provides insightful and timely analysis of business results and financial assessment of emerging business opportunities, initiatives, and the financial support needed to bring them to fruition. This individual conducts advanced analysis and assessment and provides consulting and strategic support to management.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze financial and business results and reporting with the goal to make recommendations to optimize profitability and financial health of the organization
Analyze complex financial information and provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes
Monitor financial performance across key performance indicators in sales and analyze variances to identify root causation
Provide financial support and analysis for new or emerging business initiatives and provide financial insight to management
Understand business drivers and apply to the analysis of current and future planning
Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis projects with the goal of enabling new thinking with consistent and accurate information and analysis
Create and maintain spreadsheets and other analysis on all potential business development activities
Present business results, analysis, and recommendations to senior leaders
Apply financial discipline along with a growth mindset
Support the development of sales plans and management presentations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
Four or more years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability, including the ability to understand the impact of business decisions and create and successfully manage budgets, with strong financial oversight and acumen, and a mastery of data assessment as it relates to the business
Positive attitude and an enthusiastic willingness to learn
Basic SQL for queries and process automation
Excellent Excel skill set along with Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze financial data, apply critical thinking, and make recommendations to senior leaders
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strategic thinker that can identify and recommend practical, actionable ideas designed to improve the business year over year
Pharmaceutical or distribution experience a plus but is not required
SAP and PowerBI experience are a plus, but not required
