Originally one of the largest distributors of pharma products for hemophiliacs, the company has expanded into other therapeutic areas including oncology and ophthalmology. With the business expected to double revenues organically over the next two years, the company is expanding and transforming its accounting and finance organization to support continued growth.
About the Role
BioCare SD is seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Executive who will play a critical role in expanding our distribution business in the retina market. The role will be responsible for identifying and securing new distribution partnerships, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and enhancing our brand's visibility. Working closely with our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) sales partner, you will drive our growth initiatives and position our organization as a market leader.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting and Lead Generation:
Identify and target potential distribution partners and opportunities within the market
Conduct market research to uncover new business prospects and stay updated on industry trends
Develop and implement effective strategies to generate leads and convert them into business opportunities
Relationship Building:
Build and nurture strong relationships with potential and existing customers
Work closely with our GPO partner to identify and leverage synergies
Establish connections with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to enhance our market presence and credibility
Business Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to achieve company growth objectives
Present and promote our products and services to potential customers
Negotiate and close distribution PVA agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms
Quarterback RFP response working internally with multiple stakeholders within BCSD and AllyGPO. Work with AllyGPO on all customer facing presentations supporting the RFP responses
Brand Awareness and Marketing:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies for brand awareness and market penetration
Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our brand and network with key stakeholders
Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential partners and clients
Reporting and Analysis:
Track and report on business development activities, pipeline, and performance metrics
Analyze market feedback and sales data to refine strategies and improve outcomes
Provide regular updates to senior management on progress and challenges
Qualifications
Proven experience in business development selling into complex environments with multiple stakeholders and negotiating Prime Vendor Agreements in the healthcare industry preferably in distribution
Retina/OPH experience a plus, but not required
Strong networking and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Bachelor’s degree
